Fig's Origin Story
Why?
On the 21st of January, 2026, I worked up the courage to draw for /hmofa/.
But I didn't know who to draw; No characters were appealing to me. And they say, Be the change you want to see in the world.
Appearance
So I started with a generic canine, deciding her species along the way. In my attempts to give her sharp bedroom eyes, I accidentally gave her thick bags under the eyes. Combining that with her thinning, vintage hair made her look mature and cougarish. I didn't set out to make a mature character, but I ended up liking it more than my original idea. When I think of mature women, I think of bathrobes and builder's tea. She had a comfortable and honest appearance, and an emerald bathrobe made her look even more cozy.
Proclivities
She needs some habits, and cougars look like they smoke. I love the smell of tobacco, always have. The bathrobe made me think of "flashing", and she always keeps her robe open anyways, so it fits. The thing about her is that she's terribly bored, so a bit of excitement goes a long way with her.
Why Make Her English?
Nudity is something you can only comfortably practice in places like Europe, where nudity laws are more relaxed. By now I was thinking of writing something with her, and the only place that would make sense for an American protagonist is the United Kingdom. I had to look for a place that is:- In Northern England,
- Populated enough,
- Laid back,
- And close to the shore.
English accents get more unintelligible the further you go up north, and Tyke sounds delightful to someone tired of the 'posh Londoner' accent.
